WINTER SKIN CARE HEALTH TIPS THROUGH AYURVEDA


1. Get in habit of oiling up each day with Ayurvedic massage (abhyanga) half an hour before shower.
This will help to keep skin smooth and healthy and also gives immense relaxation.
2. Be sure to drink plenty of luke warm water. This will soothen vata as it hydrates the skin and help curb
craving and overeating at the same time.
3. Intake of foods which are sweat, sour and salty in nature.
4. Avoid harsh soaps, use soaps with high contents of natural oils and glycerin. You Can also use green
gram flour / besan with turmeric with milk or rose water.
5. Herbs like amla, satavari, aswaganda, triphala have gentle detoxifying properties and helps to
maintain moisturising balance. It regulates vata and also maintains skin texture and radiance.
Preparations like Amla murabba, chyavanprash also helps to keep you fit and healthy in winter.
6. Facial packs with aloe-vera in milk and herbs like yashtimadu, rosepetals , satavari leaves a great
moisturizing effect. Face pack once /twice in a week.
7. Basti, one of the panchkarma helps to maintain the balance of vata and serves as excellent internal
and external oilation.
8. Exercise for atleast 30 minutes each day, outdoor or indoor as per the weather.
